Technical leadership · Microsoft Cloud

Marcus Norberg

I work across technology, people, and operations. My background spans Microsoft cloud, infrastructure, identity, endpoint management, networking, and security, alongside years of leadership, coaching, mentoring, customer dialogue, and responsibility for difficult technical problems. I am often the person people turn to when the obvious answers have run out, and I tend to get from unfamiliar territory to a useful working understanding quickly.

About

Technology is only part of the job.

I have spent more than twelve years in IT, from field service, networking and systems administration to Microsoft 365, Azure, identity, internal IT, technical education and advisory work. A large part of that time has also been spent leading people, setting expectations, coaching individuals, running workshops, improving processes, following progress, and taking ownership when a problem crossed normal team boundaries. I also teach advanced technical subjects, which means understanding them well enough to explain the difficult parts clearly, adapt to different levels of experience, and answer the questions that do not fit neatly into the lesson plan.

I am comfortable moving between technical detail and the human side of the work: understanding what is actually wrong, explaining it clearly, deciding what matters, helping people perform well, and making sure the work gets finished properly. New systems and unfamiliar problems rarely stay unfamiliar for long.

Focus

Where I tend to be most useful.

I am most useful in situations where the problem is difficult, the ownership is unclear, or several technical and human factors are tangled together. Those are usually the situations people bring to me.

Leadership & Coaching

Leading groups, mentoring individuals, setting expectations, handling motivation and obstacles, and helping people develop structure, confidence, and professional working habits.

Ownership & Escalation

People tend to bring me the problems that have already resisted the straightforward fixes. I take ownership of complex cloud, client, network, and operational issues, work out what is actually happening, coordinate the right people, and carry the problem through to resolution.

Technical Depth

Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Windows Server, PowerShell, networking, hybrid infrastructure, security, compliance, and troubleshooting. I work with these subjects deeply enough to teach them, build labs around them, troubleshoot them, and explain them in terms other people can actually use.
